The warm glow of a dusky red against black sets the mood.

Haemo: B2B P2 by is a Visual Style that is perfect to build a sensual desktop around. I tried to do that with Rubis, a previous sidebar skin, but it did not achieve the effect I wanted. This skin captures the ambiance I was looking for:

Glowing red translucent caption panels and Media Player controls merge smoothely into a textureless, curved, jet black background and flare with light when hovered over. The scroll controls for the skin match the appearance and behavior of the caption panels. I used flush-mounted controls for the Command Line and Master Volume Control buttons at the edges of the skin where the 3D curve would make conventional buttons appear clumsy and out of place.

The clock sets the tone for the skin and desktop the way a centerpiece should.
