Neon Afterglo: Paradiso is the third and final member of the Neon Afterglo replacement trilogy.
It has met with considerable success, having enjoyed some 19,300 downloads in its first two postings before being removed due to a misunderstanding concerning copyright, which has since been straightened out. So, to get the ACTUAL download count, just add 19,300 to whatever the current listed download count is.
This is a revamp of the original skin and the differences are many yet subtle. The captions have been completely redesigned, both for the main skin and the Stack. The Volume slider bar has been restyled to match the captions. Window control buttons have now been skinned. Finally, the clock has also been redesigned, first to get rid of the stereotypical Vista Orb and then to embrace the concept behind this skin.
And what concept is that?
The Caribbean.
The Caribbean is my Happy Place, the center of my universe where I can relax, unwind, find peace and generally let go. This isn't surprising since I hail from there originally, having emigrated to my current home in Canada while in my mid teens.
However, as I've said many times before, you can take the boy out of the Caribbean but you can't take the Caribbean out of the boy.
It's a place fraught with lore, legend, magic and mystery, tales of treasure, treachery and pirates, all set against an idyllic backdrop of white sand beaches, blue skies, azure waters, warm sea breezes and lush, green, tropical forests. She has a siren's call and many a man has fallen under her seductive spell, coming down for just a visit and finding himself unable to leave:
Errol Flynn Ian Fleming Jimmy Buffet
The Caribbean is my Paradise, my Mistress, my Place of Dreams. This skin celebrates her.
Presenting:
Neon Afterglo: Paradiso
I want to thank my very good friend for his superlative Visual Style, Mediterraneo 3.5x, which is the inspiration for this Desktop Sidebar skin. We've worked together on many projects and he just keeps getting better.
I also wish to thank another fellow deviantART member for use of his excellent image The Hide-out which is the backdrop for the screenshot.
I love this skin! But I cannot get it to work, I downloaded the file and extracted it, but no luck. Tried opening it with windows sidebar, no luck. Help?
Unfortunately, this skin is for Desktop Sidebar, an old Windows XP third party utility and not any of the modern native Windows Utilities. Sorry...

"There are things that music can do that language could never do, that painting could never do, or sculpture. Music is capable of going directly to the source of the mystery. It doesn't have to explain it. It can simply celebrate it."
